Just ordered a new desktop

Ooh, nice. I kind of have the impression that AutoCAD isn't really that hard to use, my roommates worked with it all the time (AutoCAD 2004). Then again, they were students, whereas you use it for business purposes. Is it more complicated than I think it is?

Sounds like a good deal!

However, did you realize it comes with Windows 7 installed? You might need to upgrade it to Windows 8 sometime later.

Personally I spent the past whole year blaming Windows 8 but I had to make a shift to this operating system and now I'm realizing it's not that junk as I thought, but the remark about this system comes about from your comment about compatibility.

With Windows 8 seems there is none, and besides running old 32 bit applications it says to be able to run 16 bit software without having the compatibility issues that Vista had.

Yes, I remember myself trying out Windows 7 for the first time after the horror stories I lived with Windows Vista.

It was a nice change and the desktop resembled much the Mac desktop then. However I had little time to test Windows 7 having to switch back to XP due to having my computer broken and needing to use and old laptop that I had stored somewhere in the house.

I just left XP early this week, to much to see and try with Windows 8 now, so if you know really well Windows 7, yes, the best advice is stick with the operating system that really suit your needs :)

Holy cow! I didn't know that prices for such a monster computer are so low. Few years ago you would pay more than double for half of that. Fantastic deal!
Sir you got yourself a bomb for dirt cheap money.

I thought it was a steal. When I compare it to my first home computer it really makes me sick. First home computer was a Compaq running windows 95 on a pentium 2 processor and a HUGE 1.6G hard drive:24:. Including the PC, a printer and a cheap desk I spent $2800+ dollars. That was 1997. Never could get the HP printer & Compaq to work well together. Purchased it fron Circuit City. They swapped me out computers about 4 times before I ended up with a Sony mini tower pentium 3 running windows 98.

This looks a bit strange. Just curious, why get a Core i7 with no dedicated GPU? What exactly are you going to be using this computer for? Other than that it looks fine, enjoy your purchase!
