Well I had a fun time last few days...NOT Got called at work, hubby had deep fried chicken and managed to dump the full deep fryer of oil on his foot :eek So I book out of work and wouldn't you know there an f*cking train blocking my way to the house I have to wait on :mad I'm like dying not know how bad Joe is...... finally it passes and when Joe hears me come in he hollars from the bathroom BE CAREFUL No shit. There is grease everywhere, it smells like McDonalds x 10! Joe was not wear shoes but it only landed on his right foot. He had laid boxes we had waiting around to burn (beer boxes) ;) on the oil and he had managed to make it to the bathtub and was soaking is foot in cold water.

It could have been much, much worse. Hell, the grease missed one of our dogs by inches and that would have killed are little 9lb dog!

I went on line to see if we should take him to the ER and then I went the Walgrens and got some Neosporin. I stayed home the rest of the day and yesterday. It did blister pretty good but it didn't turn pussie and luckily he had yesterday and today off work. I just don't know how he can wear shoes tommow. He has no sick leave days left though...... and he's already in trouble for excessive sick leave-but he's fighting that with the Union-he's a bus driver. Sigh.

Between the damn sewer line breaking twice and now the grease all over the damn kitchen....we will have to probably replace the floor...it's been a hell of a summer I tell you! :thumbdown

See if you had been a bit creative and called it Hubby's Boo Boo, this thread would have 100 pages by now.. Sorry just teasing this is serious..

Hope he is fine..;)

I think Ice would have been more effective.. Cold water surely helped but in such hot situations ice, properly bundle as to not give him cold burn, would have helped faster.. He may still want to put his foot in ice water if he can still feel the heat..

That's why I said, not directly on it.. properly bundle as to not give him cold burn, You would never want to apply ice directly on skin anyway.. Never a good idea.. First Aid 101..

I tell you I don't think I'm gonna want fried Chicken for a long long time....and the damn little dog kept getting the grease all over him before I could get it all cleaned up, it was harder than hell to clean up it was all over the cupboards, everytime I turned around my little dog looked like Fonzie :24: if I had a leather coat for her I would have taken a picture. I must have gone thru a hold carton of alcohol rags cleaner her up.........

The clutch was just expensive, this was messy, painful and if Joe miss more work could possibly cause him disciplinary action or worse because of his already bad attendance. Frankly Id rather have a financial problem......

Well Joe went to work this morning. After wearing shoes and driving to work (about 15 minutes away) they took one look at his hobbling ass and sent him home. His foot is soo swollen now, about twice as big as the other one. Two huge blisters on his big toe and very very red on part of his foot. I wish the would make him get a doctor's release so that would force him to go to the doctors. He admits to me the pain makes it hard to concentrate on driving. Just what one wants in a bus driver. Stubburn ass man!!! GRRRRRRRR :mad

Fred could you come to WA, club him over the head and help me load him into the truck and help haul his ass to the doc? Pretty please with sugar on top?

Without actually seeing his foot. If it is that swollen it has fever in it and probably infection. Nothing over the counter is going to help that. He really needs to get it looked at by a professional. Burns are nothing to toy with.

It doesn't seem hot, and I don't mean to be gross but I smelled it.....and it doesn't smell "off" at all, so at this time, I don't think there is an infection......the color is pinkish and clear where blistered- no yellow or brown, I just want a professional to look at it, maybe test it....sigh.
