LoL Sorry I drew attention away from the fact that out of your 100-ish TV channels, they are dropping 25.

*sigh* Seriously Dana, and guys, just step back and reflect how you are living in one of the world's biggest country, with so much potential, so much convenience. Things, that for some people aren't imaginable are right at your fingertips. I know that living in the US of A isn't all rainbows and sunshine, and that you have your fair share of hardship, but you still have it better than most people in the world.
You complain about the TV channels, about waiting in line for 30 minutes, for having to sell your 2nd car and have to carpool, about tanlines, or instagram being down... when right this moment my village doesn't have clean and safe drinking water, and hasn't had it for years now.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want any of you to feel guilty about living where you live and having what you have, but I do want you to appreciate and be grateful for all of it instead of taking it all for granted and complaining.

... ok... ok.... I'll get down from my soapbox now...

It's not about how many channels I get... It's about what you pay for... If you pay for something do you really think they should yank them because corporations want to lynch pockets of the public?

Man, wouldn't this be a boring-ass forum if every time somebody thought about starting a thread they had to consider if someone else had it worse, and if someone did then they couldn't post the thread. :thumbdown
The whole fucking PW industry would collapse!

What she's saying is that some people don't even have the option, whereas you do, yet complain.

It does put things into perspective to have someone from a less fortunate area remind us of all the objects and opportunities etc. that are available to westerners.

Kyle, we're all here sitting on our asses surfing the internet reading about too much TV. I think we know we've got it pretty good.

That's what I'm saying. Leah put it in perspective. It's easy to complain about the small things when people have it much worse. I'm not going to bash the Western world because of it, but it's something we do.

LOL don't you pay monthly? If you're not locked into a contract, you haven't paid for those 25 channels yet ;) You can just cancel when they drop & switch providers.

I use Comcast, and we have WAY more channels than we need... however many normal + the HD versions of the same, etc. I wish there was a way to select & choose exactly what channels you want and pay for just those.

But I rarely watch live TV anyways. I love my TiVo box... and what I can't get there, I download or stream online. I'm glad I canceled Netflix when they split up the streaming / CD options - most of the time the stuff I want to watch isn't even available on it anyway *shrugs*

5 competitors, orgy at each person's house over 5 nights, best orgy wins 1000 pounds.

And while the hostess is prepping the bedroom, the guests get to snoop around her kitchen.

That depends on the parents. I dont let kids watch tv all day. When I have my niece I arrange things to do which are educational and fun for her and allow her an hour of tv before bedtime, as it winds her down.

That effectively doubled the subscription rate. When did that happen? I have to say I was disappointed to find out that new movies weren't available on the basic subscription.

I had netflix when it was like 9$ and you could choose between a plan with just disks or with disks and streaming. I don't have cable near me so I couldn't get the streaming and got tired of constantly ordering disks. I just canceled the subscription after a while because I kept forgetting about it.

w00t! The joys of living with shitty internet.

I want to say it was about 2 years ago now? I could be wrong. I just know I used to pay $8 for 1 disc at a time + unlimited streaming, and if I had stayed with them it would have been closer to $15 a month.

we have a movie burner on the PCs and when we had Netflix an the wife had Blockbuster we used to rent all the time and burn dvds...now that the discs are made so that they can't be copied . We have a stack of dvds that we have wanted to watch but never do, because we don't know where to start....lol
