So I normally take ibuprofen and paracetamol together, two of each, which is the recommended dose on the packet.

How many would become an issue, do you reckon?

Taking say, three pills instead of two doesn't seem like it'd kill you. Or four. Five is starting to get a bit worrying. Six is possibly an issue. Anything from seven onwards is just toying with fate, surely.

Paracetamol can cause liver issues so I'd take the recommended of both and wait for the 4 and 6 hours to be up before taking more.

I guess technically speaking anything over the recommended dose is an "over-dose" but I'm guessing that's not what you are asking...

If you are asking what the safe dose over a recommended dose is, then i guess that would depend on the specific drug.

I think you're only supposed to take 2 + 1 of ibuprofen/paracetamol. (any combination)

They were possibly stronger strength brufen, I got 1 tab 6hrly when I was prescribed by my GP but they were 400mg instead of 200mg you buy over the counter.

I think the safe dose is starting to work, so I might not need to test this :p if I'm still in pain in a half hour though then fuck it.

The more you take, doesn't mean it is going to work. I took the same painkillers for a few days and couldnt shake my headache. I then took some asprin on day 5 and had a good sleep and it went.

This is true, I have a couple of packs of co-codamol that I save for really bad times, just because I'm not used to them so they seem to work better.

Don't mess with the meds.

I used anti-inflammatories quite heavily in my sporting days, they were great for backaches and twisted joints, but I tended to go large with the dosage and as a result I have permanent stomach damage.
