Came home to find a spider crawling up my living room wall. At this point I could have reached it to hit it with a paper or magazine. Missed my chance and it went too high. Considered leaving it but I was too scared.

I called my brother who lives 5 minutes away, he refused to come and get rid of spider for me. So I had to call my dad. God Bless my father. He had just left my brothers so came round and threw the spider out the window.

Hating spiders and creepy crawlies is the only girly thing about me, except my girly anatomy!

LOL I don't think I'd ever call someone to come take care of a bug for me... that being said, I've used cleaning products in spray bottles to kill hard-to-reach bugs before, or when I didn't want to get too close and risk it getting on my hand. And if I see a bug somewhere, I cannot ignore it and will be unable to rest until it is dead.

Yeah it was out my reach and if I sprayed it, it would have fallen onto the carpet and vanished probably. I usually hit them with a magazine and I cant rest til its dead either or out the window!

Oh, and you'd think living on the 15th floor of a building would keep a lot of critters out.... but it's super annoying because my apartment has these big wide sliding windows, which are great for the view/letting in a breeze, but they aren't insulated properly at the top and so in the summer, flies tend to make their way inside the crack at the top near the sliding piece.

No flies here and the windows hardly get opened, I live next to a main road so it lets a lot of noise in. I hardly see any creepy crawlies around here. It was about the 2nd spider I have seen in the 19 months I have lived here.

LOL I normally stuff a tissue in the space at the top to keep them out. Pretty ghetto, but using anything more "permanent" would prevent the windows from opening, and I like to sleep with a breeze when I can.

I hope you never go on a safari. I remember being on a game ranch in South Africa and resting on the bed in my grass roofed hut and looking up and seeing something in the thatch.

Once I realized it was a snake, I came running out of my hut screaming 'snaaaaakkkke'

Three guys ran in with machetes to take care of the critter, and came out a few minutes later with a dead snake in their hands. They said it probably would not have killed me, only blinded me. :/

But spiders though? I would wake up and find ones as big as a fist in my room. Not much you could do about them. Even the hotel I stayed at for awhile up in the mountains had no AC and no screens on the windows so you either roasted while you slept, or kept the windows open and run the risk of a creepy crawly. Of course, there was also a gap of like 3 inches under the front door which anything could have crawled or slithered there way into as well.

I was more concerned about waking up with a baboon in my room though.

I must be weird...

spiders, snakes, lizards and such don't bother me. Yet I hate Maggots, If you chucked one at me, I would probably faint
