The Price of coconuts i see have risen in the past fiscal quarter...could the rising costs be due to more Asian dishes becoming more popular in the western world??

That could very well be. But I have to wonder if coconuts are becoming a rarity due to over-harvesting.

I feel the rarity is more due to biased distribution.....it seems to me that coconut distribution is allocated via a system of un-monitored need for demand.

You think? Could be, makes sense to me. Lax regulations with international trade is affecting kiwi prices as well.

Did you know the average coconut picker retires at the ripe old age of 23 and with them living to around the age of 96 the rise in pension payouts is possibly the biggest increase in the industry in over 4 years.

I did know that. Down from the age of 26 only 10 years ago.

And injuries have risen dramatically over the past 12 months.....7 were injured this past year and that is a 57% increase with payouts topping $92.

$92? That is madness. What they need to do is make a limit payout of 50%, the other 50% coming from their own pension.
