How traditional are you in dating?

Seems like people in general now must have a very liberated, new wave attitude and flexible lifestyle in order to fit in socially and appeal to someone. Why do most people go to bars and so intent on showing they are out to prove they're independent persons?

Just seems like we all worry too much about saying something the wrong way or must show this person I'm going to have a few drinks first because that's what I do and if it doesn't fit my lifestyle, then fuck it!

I think it's always been commonplace for people to try and fit in with what's 'normal', especially when dating.


Personally I like traditional dating roles. I've never asked a man out and I don't intend to either.
