say for instance 10 million in your country's currency.....would you contribute to good causes or would you keep it to yourself?

i'd contribute

everyday i read in the papers of parents of terminally ill kids who are striving to raise money to take their kids to disney,or to watch manchester united or see the penguins......well i'd make those dreams possible(and no....i wouldnt want publicity)

and i'd contribute to animal rescue centers run by people who are struggling to finance them...no animal would be put to sleep on my watch

I'd donate to various charitable organizations and keep the rest for myself for investing an such (or stockpiling gold).

First charity starts at home. I would pay off all my bills. Then I would donate to cancer research. That is close to my heart. Then i would invest in my sons future.

I agree with Tom. I'd pay off my house and I would pay off the mortgages of my siblings and my husband's siblings.Pay the kids college and provide them seed money and a reliable set of wheels. Foster kids who have aged out of the system...I'd look for organizations that assist them. I'd bank most of it (credit union, of course ;) ) Live off the interest and have the luxury of doing random acts of kindness for the rest of my life and I'd travel. Would I quit my job? I'm not sure. I love what I do. I'd like to think I'd do it even if I didn't need the paycheck. I wouldn't work as much, though. Fun to think about.

Yup I would definitely donate a bunch of it. I'd donate to homeless and places for abused children.

Not sure where I would put the money but I would be sure to put the money to defeat the cause of some suffering instead of treating the effects. I would also want the money to be able to regenerate itself so it's capable of doing more than it's face value.

As for myself I would want a farm and a house designed and built to my custom probably on an island somewhere away from lots of political corruption.

I'd spend it all on hookers, booze and blow in one week-end

I'd definitely donate some of the money to charity. If I won £10 mill, I'd probably donate about £1mill to various causes that I support but also donate small amounts every year. I'd then spend it on myself on a house etc

I'd give a little bit to worthy causes (like a dogs home) and then buy two houses, rent them out so i have an income, and blow the rest.

I'd give generously to:

- No kill animal shelters (local)
- St Jude's Hospital
- Freedom From Religion Foundation
- Planned Parenthood
- Remote Area Medical

Then, I would buy myself a home in the French Quarter in NOLA - with a vacation home in the eastern part of France - Colmar, Metz, or a small village right outside of.

I would first live out my dreams of owning all my dream cars and traveling the world. After that maybe donate a few bucks and put the rest in a company so I don't get bored.

Pay off student loans
Buy a 2010 Ford Focus
I would buy my parents a small house outright, knowing they'd screw it all up.
Rent an apartment until I finished college
Give my boyfriend 100,000 dollars until I move over there

I wouldn't have much left after the loans :24: soooo...
But yes, I think I would like to start my own program to help people. Not sure I trust mainstream charities much.

I'd pay my bills, and set my kids up for life, along with some family members. Then, I wouldn't donate the money. Too many ways it could go for things you don't intend it to, and not to the people/things that need it. I would immediately head to the centre that helped me before, and set them up with new computers, supplies, and a fund to help with the women who go in, desperate for help with housing, food, etc. The girl who runs the place would get a huge bonus. The homeless shelters here would get supplies and equipment.

Somehow, though, i don't think i need to plan for this *sigh*

I have a cousin that won 13 mil a few years ago. She did a little bit of everything....gave to family, charities her kids, built another home and her husband started a trucking company. You'd never know they were as well off as they are, they're just good, solid people.

I think I'd travel after giving to family and a couple of causes that are near and dear.

I would pay off my £350 overdraft then pay off my mortgage, sell up and downsize (this flat is too big for one person) probably buy somewhere to rent, give a bunch of money to set up my family (pay off my folks and my brother's mortgage), go on a couple of kickass holidays and give a lump sum to a bunch of charities. By the time I did all of that I would probably not have much left.
