I really don't understand why the British press has to put his bullet-riddled and bloodstained corpse on the front page....I'm all for justice, but this is just showing spitefulness

I wonder when we'll get a moving tribute from his good friend Tony Blair?

Am I? I can't prove it myself, I have only the words of the British/American governments to go on...were they not against him?

why do you actually think they were against him?........lockerbie and the fact that he was arming the I.R.A.

Yeah, maybe Gaddafi was doing that, but honestly, why the heck do they need to publish these photos? You don't get photos (nor do I want them to publish photos) of Bin Laden's photo being published, he has killed (or been responsible for)more people in one day than anyone has ever had

When I read the news story, I couldn't help but shake my head when I read that the capturing force who killed Gaddafi chanted "God is great".

To some extent, no better than the masses dancing in the streets of the United States at night when it was announced that Bin Laden was killed.

Live by the sword, die by the sword. I have little doubt that Gadaffi got what he deserved at the hands of his enemies, but I can't help but find irony in the fact that those who profess religion and believe in a God would take sincere joy/gratification in someones death.

IMO Gaddafi should of died at his own hands as not to give the satisfaction to his enemies. I do have to give the guy credit, he stayed until the end though and didn't high tail it out of there when he had the chance. Can't help but wonder what the outcome would of been if there weren't any European or US air support involved in this conflict. Hopefully we and Europe get what we want and not someone worse.

maybe, just maybe those countries are finally realizing the atrocities done by these rulers/dictators is not the way to live? and the citizenry is seeing the true evils they have caused by their rulers?

It takes a stronger man to show mercy rather than retribution.

Long story short, the people were pissed and took it out on him. Without air power from other nations, those people most likely wouldn't of been able to get to him, just hope everything works out for Libya. I would of at least had more respect for Gaddafi's captors if they would of at least executed him like a soldier and not of acted like a bunch of street thugs.

As for your "joy", would find it more than ironic if you go to church on Sunday's or proclaim to be a Christian.

Am I the only one who finds it ironic that Bin Ladin can be killed by non muslims and still be buried according to Muslim tradition yet the Muslim government who killed Gaddafi may not be able to do the same? The new government (or whoever has the most power now in that country) really isn't starting on a high note here. Apparently those in power really didn't have much control over those on the ground, and that tells me something.

Thought it was a bit rich for Cameron to condemn Gadaffi for selling Semtex to the IRA. Does he remonstrate with America for the same reason?

Got to admit, it dosen't bode well for a stable system in Libya when the current regieme when capturing their enemies, drag them around the street for a bit abusing them and kicking the shit out of them before publically executing them, no trial, nothing! Oh, and then for good measure lie about it.

Yeah, they still have a long way to go before getting their country to some sort of workable system/government. It seems to be chaos atm.

Never heard of a fair trial? Gaddafi may of been guilty of the crimes he was accused of, but just like the church and the abuse cases, you can't really control what really happens in the lower ranks of the military

Ironic how civilized the West is, isn't it?

We (NATO and the U.S) want to hold inquiries on how Gaddafi was killed/executed, but wasn't it the U.S/NATO who targeted Gaddafi's known locations with missile strikes in hopes of killing him in the first place?

I have no doubt that Gaddafi wasn't executed by trained soldiers, but these same people who killed Gaddafi are the same same people that the U.S and NATO supported during this "civil war".

Killing is killing, no civilized way to go about it.
