Yeah the typical small time club attitude to combat our better away support. Wigan, Blackburn, Charlton abd Boro all did it, used the persistent standing bullshit line, and they wondered why their attendances evaporated.

Though the dippers might want to re-evaluate the number.

1965

I'd say we reduce theirs to 1800 but then we'd become as bad as them, and nobody wants that reputation.

I'd ban them all to be honest... Too many people, not complying with the stewards orders. Have their heads and be done with it. :D

When I watched last year, Liverpool won 3-1 there was no atmosphere from the united fans at all... so i dont think it will make a difference to them.

It's happened before though.

I'd actually cut Swansea's allocation altogether, you don't want any of them sheep shagging taffs in your town.

It's strange that its came up now though and never came up during or straight after the game. Its still the biggest watch match in the world... I was reading the other day around 600million people watch it Live world-wide. Arsenal were recently in Asia playing Malaysia XI and only managed to get 42k fans to watch the game... Liverpool got that to watch them train and for the game against them got over 80k... Dominance.

United give each team 3000 or so tickets, that's Premier League regulations. It's something like that or 10% of your ground's attendance, whichever is smaller. Hence the 3000+ rather than 7500. In the cups though it's bigger, different regulations, I think we give out about 8000.

To be honest here, If they're not gonna comply with Health & safety then what do they expect. Liverpool are doing the right thing... Prevent a disaster... Like Hillsborough. God bless their souls. YNWA

It's actually Liverpool council that have enforced this. Typical do gooder attitude. Probably some 45 year old in an office who hasn't been laid in like ever and is just glad to not be on the dole.

If there are people blocking the gangways and suddenly everyone needs to evacuate, what are these idiots doing in the gangways Either way there would be a crush to get out, no?

Petty and silly. They were throwing this crap around at West Ham a couple of seasons or so ago. Loads of people that I know who are well behaved were getting warnings and bans for standing up. You do jump up when something exciting happens and also if every fucker in front of you jumps up you have to if you want to see what's going on. Honestly, they do shit like this and then wonder why the atmosphere at grounds is dying!

Nobody does anything if your occasionally standing up and singing... Standing in a Gangway totally different.

Hillsborough was caused by poor policing, stewarding and having fences at the front. It had fuck all to do with people standing in gang ways.

I said "like" Hillsborough... Not exactly the same as it, If you can't see if for the good of the people that actually goes to games then god help you... Do you think Liverpool wanna lose out on extra money they could make on tickets... or do they wanna prevent an incident... (Drunken) idiots standing in Gangways could lead to people being crushed.

Yes, you said "like" Hillsborough. The difference between Hillsborough and people standing in aisles is so vast that it's a very poor comparison.

" vast" ... What both being in Football stadiums, Both involving crowds... If the stewards/police acted as Liverpool are doing now then we wouldn't be talking about Hillsborough. The guy who make this call made the right call. A lesser man would have done nothing in hope the crowds didn't act as they did before. The guy who made this decision was thinking about the people, in no way is the guy who made this call benefiting, except for preventing a incident.

I refuse to believe that it's only Man United fans that stand up during a football game.....
Sounds like some petty scouse plot to me.

That reminds me!! I heard of a time when an away fan was watching Liverpool play Reading or someone similar a few years back at Anfield. When suddenly for some bizarre reason that only Liverpudlians can know, an announcement came over the Tanoy: "Operation Anfield is now in effect."
Quick as a flash he stood up, turned around to face the crowd, and shouted, "All your hubcaps have been nicked!"
