"Some parents touch and kiss their child’s buttocks. Most likely this happened to them as a child. They are confused about this boundary. The buttocks should never be touched."

So every child who has ever been in an advert for nappies is fucked then!
:eek:eek:eek omg thats whats fucking wrong with me!!!!

If it was at a gym, why didn't he just ask a female gym instructor to accompany the daughter to the ladies restroom? I'd rather that than to take my daughter into a room with a bunch of grown, naked men.

I'm with you on that. I guess perhaps he may not have wanted a stranger (employee or not) to take his daughter through. This wasn't the first time I'd seen him with his daughter in the mens changing room but the second. The first time I was just walking past and didn't hear anything.

I guess that was kind of a hard call, especially if he's maybe a single dad and not sure how to do things in that situation?

This is true. It's easy in that situation to draw your own conclusions and assume things. He may well be a single parent etc. I know this much though - if I was taking my girl swimming or whatever he was doing, I'd certainly not take the kid through an area where she could be scarred for life at the rather large hairy bellies nevermind anything else... that's something I guess - the fact that quite a few have large bellies would prevent the other bits being seen! Perhaps every cloud does have a silver lining after all

:24::24: I think all the hairy bellies and man bits would definitely scar me, even as an adult! :24:

I just love all the double standards in that piece. Telling you not to use slang words for body parts but then using the term "icky". Also how you should make children think there isn't anything dirty about sex and then make them wear underwear in the bath and make sure they and you are paranoid about anything to do with sex or body parts

That struck me as well.
The whole thing goes around teaching kids to hide their bodies and so forth, but then they claim they don't want to make the children feel their bodies/sex is dirty/shameful etc.

Actually, I agree with most of it. My daughter started showering herself at the age of 6. I believe privacy is needed by this age. But LOL@ this bit...

10) Using inappropriate names when referring to private body parts.

Using profane words or calling private body parts inappropriate names such as "weenie", "winkie", "boobs", and "booty", communicates a profane view of the body that feels icky and which causes confusion in the child. The parent should only use anatomically correct terms for private body parts.

My daughter is the one who says to me, that she will have boobs one day. I find it very funny. Not saying winkie, weenie and such infront of a child is definately OTT

Yep, I do.

There is no way I would put cream on my daughters parts with her being 7. She can do that herself.

I told her to start shutting the bathroom door when she goes toilet aswell. I am surprised this isn't understood tbh

I said, I agreed on most of it, not all of it.

I mixed the cream one up with number 5. But I still agree with most of it.

Number 1 is silly.
Number 2 is silly.
Number 3 ..I agree by age 8 they should wash themselves. The other parts, silly.
Number 4.. I agree with depending on the age though.
Number 5.. I agree with. I couldn't walk around the house half dressed infront of my children
Number 6.. I agree with. A child should not be undressed in public
Number 7.. I agree with, mainly purely it gets the child into a habbit.
Number 8.. I agree with. I personally would feel uncomfortable.
Number 9.. I agree with. Just wrong to me.
Number 10.. OTT
Number 11.. I agree with. I won't watch any sexual scenes on TV, even with my 16 nearly 17 year old son in the same room.
Number 12.. saying sex is evil an nasty is stupid. But I wouldn't chat about sex to a young person anyway, unless they are of age and asking for advice.
Number 13.. why would you hug and kiss your child in a flirtations way ffs o_O
Number 14.. Just stupid
Number 15.. A mother shouldn't even go into the mens rest room lmao.

Just my opinions and outlook to it. Everyone is different :)

ok fair enough, you didn't agree with the most ridiculous parts anyway! But I think being overly stringent with kids about nudity and over modesty is bad, I mean it says not to teach them that sex is bad etc but I think by locking doors and wearing under wear in bath tubs that's exactly what you're teaching them, that being naked is dirty.

I think when they are at a certain age, then yes...like everyone else should close the bathroom door when having a pee lol. I don't want to walk past watching my child going toilet. I think it should be a private time. If they are old enough to go toilet alone and wipe themselves...then they are old enough to have the privacy and do it behind closed doors. I don't agree with wearing underwear in bath tubs. Like I said, when my daughter got to 6 years of age. I knew she was old enough to wash herself.

I never said being naked is dirty. But teaching them to walk around with nothing on isn't right either..or me walking around half naked

I think its fine for a child to bathe themselves at that certain age but the article says lock the door.
That sounds like a neglectful parent suit waiting to happen

and why lock the door??? It's like they're suggesting that parents are all pedos and wouldn't be able to resist perving on their kids

I agree about that, the locking seems dangerous, unless there are creeps with raging boners milling around your house?? Kids and water locked together with no supervision doesn't seem safe.
