I have a couple of those laying around. Actually two really nice ones for that matter...

Which, if anyone knows anything about microphones and recording, they'd know are very nice and versatile microphones.

Not sure about recording so I will say the top one.. I know the second one ( similar to the one I posted ) is the best for one stage presentations.. Or at least that style for talking and doing large show presentations.. I would think they are great for shows as well but I would think they would not be so great for recording but I have no idea TBH..

The SM57 (top) is pretty much the most versatile microphone in the world... you can use it for vocals, drums, guitar/bass cabinets, acoustic guitars, and pretty much anything else you can think of. I've used them for both recording and live music. The SM58 I use mostly for vocals, but it's passable to mic cabinets/amps and acoustics with it... it just doesn't have the same versatility. I've used it in the studio as well, but only for vocals.

I think I'll be around. I'm heading out in a few to go see Transformers with my dad, and then having some steak at their house afterwards.
