I'm working at a horse show...Canadian Nationals. We have 6 horses entered in 7 classes starting Monday. Our first horse is guaranteed to be a National Champion because he's the only horse in the class. How's that for an awesome start?
I work for a farm that breeds, raises and shows Arabian halter horses. For the last two years I was a groom in the show barn, meaning I helped prep the show horses for shows and also travelled to shows with them. During winter, when the show horses are in Arizona, I work nights watching foaling mares. This year after foaling was done they decided to switch me to working outside with the broodmares and foals. Our trainer still wanted me to work at shows because he likes how I work and I know what I'm doing so I still get to go to shows. It's good times. :thumbup For me, yes, this is a career. Best job in the world and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
