I'm beginning to despise hearing those words. If you lend money you never see it again. If you lend an item and it manages to find it's way back it's never in the same shape as when it left. ie: My sisters very soon to be ex ( I call him Fucknuts ) asked to borrow my pressure washer. I didn't have a good feeling about it but said yes anyway. He came and got it and as soon as he left I told Mrs.Guyzerr he was going to break it. I don't know why I had that feeling but I did. Anywhoo... it was supposed to come back on Tuesday and because it didn't show up I called Fucknuts. He said it would be back the next day. Sure enough I hear a knock at the door. It takes me about 10 seconds to answer it and by the time I open the door Fucknuts is at the end of the carport and he's walking towards his truck. I hollered... " where's the washer" to which he replied " it's here " and he keeps walking. I walked down the three steps, walk towards the end of the car and there it is... in a pile with the cord and hose all messed up on the ground. I axed him why it wasn't rolled up just like the way he got it. He started yelling at me saying the hose split. When I tried to axe him what happened he told me to fuck off. Ok so now I'm getting a bit fired up and we are nose to nose. Split? Split? How the hell did it split I hollered? He said that's the way he got it. I told him I used it just last week and it was just fine to which he replied " someone else must have used it since then. ". I was left speechless because I was so bloody mad and I was hoping and waiting for the sob to take a swing at me but the spineless bastard that he is just jumped in his truck and took off like a bat out of hell.

Fast forward to today. I stopped at a hardware store on the way home today and bought a new hose. I also had to buy a new trigger unit because mine was built as one piece and it's tough to get a replacement in a hurry. I get home and connect all the new parts and fire the sucker up. Guess what? Yup... the pump is seized and now I have to buy a complete new pressure washer.

end of rant

I'm picky about what I loan out and who I loan it to. I like everything looking brand new; that's how my dad was when I was growing up. I have no qualms telling someone no.

Sorry Guy. I loan certain people money, when I can. I always loan it with the thought I might not get it back. If I don't I never loan them anything again. Thank God ur sister is divorcing the SOB. (Wish you would have hit 'em)

If it were 20 years ago he wouldn't have had the time to finish his sentence. I use to love a good battle but the way I look at it now is I'm getting old and only have one good one left. That being the case I wasn't going to waste it on him.

I told my sister it wouldn't be safe for me to be there on Sunday to partake in the Easter dinner and she knew exactly what I meant by that. :D I also told her that we won't be dropping in until the lazy good for nothing sob was out of her life and I'm kind of sad about that but I would rather do that than end up in the slammer. She lives just down the road from us and we stop in often. Luckely she's moving at the end of May and Fuckhead will be gone so life will be back to normal.

I was never like that but I am as of this week I think. When I lend something to someone I always believe they should and will treat it as if it's their own. I know I should know better but I have faith in people and expect them to do the right thing if they break something. ie: When we moved here from the prairies 6 years ago I had sold ALL of my power tools except a drill. I needed a scroll saw one day and asked my brother if I could borrow his because I didn't want to buy one and use it just one time. The one he had was as old as the hills and it destroyed itself as I was using it. I went out and bought him a brand spankin' new one because I believed it was the right thing to do even though his was on it's last legs. My brother refused to take it and after quite a bit of discussion I allowed him to pay me half. I have since bought about every hand power tool you can think of. I figure if I have to pay for one it might as well be mine in the end. :thumbup

I don't think I'd have been able to restrain myself in that situation, that guy would be in the hospital and I'd be in jail.

Whenever I borrow something I return it in at least as good a shape as when I borrowed it and with a full gas tank if it has one. When I loan something out I just assume I need to buy myself a new one anyway. As far as loaning money I don't think I have ever been paid back a loan.

I was the same way when I was younger but as you age you restrain yourself a bit more. Jail ain't much fun either... believe me.

Yes.... Loaning anything is tricky business. I have learned to say "NO.... Sorry".

So you're saying I can't borrow you for a little while. :(

Fucknuts...that's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He really doesn't like it when I call him that but it is what it is. :D

We think a lot alike Fred. :thumbup

I have but it's rare. Surprises are nice though. I loaned some dough to someone about 6 years ago. It didn't come back to me and I never axed for it back. Then wonder of wonders last December just before Christmas the person came over and out of the blue dropped a pile of cash in front of me. The person said thanks for helping me out when I needed it and paid it back in full. It was nice to have the cash back but what was nicer was in seeing how the person felt about being able to pay it back.

Yeah I know what you mean, even from like a year ago I have way more restraint than I used to, but someone in lying to my face like that, having the nerve to get IN MY FACE on top of it I just don't know what I'd do. At the very least maybe the guy's tires need to have the air let out of them I'd say.
