Oh God so scary!!!

Well, I have just been through my first tornado. We're visiting my bf's brother and his wife and we were out on the balcony and this huge tornado touched down right in the parking lot!!! We hauled ass into the bathroom but being 2 stories up in an apartment there's not much you can do. Scariest 15 seconds of my life. There's massive damage here, houses and businesses destroyed, it's a huge mess. And now they are saying that there's another system coming within the hour.

Yes, thank God we're okay. There's so much damage, it's unbelievable. I'm still freaking out.

Well, it was a long night, and and even worse morning. Very close friends of my family own a business here and it was completely destroyed We've been waiting all morning for the police to clear the scene enough for us to go in and see what can be salvaged. The destruction in this town is devastating. Our downtown area is demolished, whole neighborhoods are gone. It's unbelievable. Things like this just don't happen here. Until we hear from the city officials we'll be just hanging around worrying.

I am so sorry i am just glad you are okay. i had to keep a close watch on those same exact storms they took out quite a few trees and such here. but not nearly as much damage as what you got.

Thanks. They have closed of most of our town. We're having to show ID just to get into some parts of town. It's crazy. I'm so blessed that no one close to me was injured.

Glad your alright. I've lived though a few natural disasters, and have had the pleasure of seeing a tornado in the distance... but never one that close!

We were hit here about 3 or 4 years ago. It destroyed a few neighborhoods & a bunch of businesses. Fortunately no one killed.

I've just returned from town, and it's much worse than we originally thought. So far it's 22 fatalities, 7 missing, and numerous injured. They say that over 105 tornadoes touched down in NC yesterday during this storm. We were out helping get debris cleared and just checking on friends and family. In a bit I'm going out again to check on a family members business that was destroyed.
