I've never played anything there. I've been warned they will suck your life away from you.:willy_nilly:

Yes, a lot of people get really hooked on them and spend way too much time playing..
I am semi-disabled, and I need to take breaks and sit down very often, so it gave me something different to do at those times.. I always read or do some crafts.. and the little farm and little frontier were cute at that time.. but I never got addicted to them like some of the people that play all the time..

I deleted and blocked them because they changed the games so much, especially FarmVille, that they have no resemblance to the games I started playing over a year ago..
I got fed up with all the spamming on the walls and feed of friends and family that never played.. but mostly, I got disgusted with the huge invasion of privacy going on... :(

Facebook gave all apps so much power, that now you can't control your own privacy as far as what they can access..

I'll give you just Zynga's shenanigans, but this is the same for any application you might be using there, not just games, but even the little hearts, smiles and flowers people send to each other..

In order to play a game, or use any application, like FarmVille and FrontierVille, you have to give them complete control.. that is the little window that pops up and asks you for permission, and you have to agree or leave the application.. If you agree, then they have access to:

** ALL information from your account...
** This access includes: your name, address, religion, work information, school information, telephone and credit card information, if you have written it there, gender, marital status, friends, hobbies, photos, videos, notes, likes, comments, your wall and feed.. EVERYTHING that you have in your FB page, is accessed...

Now comes something most people have no idea is happening, and this is the real kick in the teeth:

**When they access your information, they also access the following:

** ALL the information from the accounts of every single one of your friends, family and even business associates..

**This access includes: names, addresses, religion, work information, school information, gender, marital status, friends, hobbies, photos, videos, notes, likes, comments, their walls and feeds.. everything that they have there, is accessed...

** PLUS... ALL information from their friends, families and business associates, in the same way as above.. :mad

I use Facebook to stay in touch with my family and childhood friends... Most of them live in Europe, Australia, Asia and South America, and it's the only way we can all be in contact at the same time...
None of these people play those games and some have never even heard of them, yet, Zynga has been accessing ALL of their accounts since the time FB changed their policies last year..

When I found out that they had been inside my 90 year old father's account, which was opened for him and my mother to keep in touch with children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, I was absolutely livid!!..

I did a lot of digging and research.. and that's when I learned everything I wrote above..

There are many privacy settings people can change to protect their privacy, but FB is always one step ahead and changes them without notifying the users..
They make many changes every Fridays after 3:00PM Pacific time..

How's that for an eye opener?.. :(

You should have kept them and deleted " facebook ".
Even though I know you can't ever.
Sorry not a facebook fan.:yuk

I use FB to stay in touch with business associates, family and friends living around the world..
You can't play those without logging into Facebook.. Even if you play through FV.com, you need to allow them to log into your FB account..

Zynga has FB in their pockets..

I understand it has its purpose's but I never got into it too much.
And to be really honest with you, I don't have the time or will to try to figure it out.

LOL!..:D I don't want to unblock them.. at least for a while.. :D

I was writing at the same time you posted, but if you read my post, you will see what I found out and why I blocked them.. Thank you anyway.. :p

Those things are indeed time and life suckers.

As well as those, I got into Farm Town and numerous others including City of Wonder just because it resembled a favourite old time pc game of mine.

However, the Christmas break and being overseas enjoying hols - I didn't play them hardly at all and didn't really miss them so not gone back. Except for a peek into Farmville a bit earlier as it was 'my first' :p What have I done... goodness. No addiction though *tremors*

I finally blocked them a month or so ago. Didn't play them but had them on there so my missus could use my account to help herself out on those games. Fortunately she's given them up now, got fed up of keep getting all these requests on them to click through. What's even sadder is that it's just a shitty little online game and there are people who actually cheat at it. Wtf? How sad must your life be!

I didn't mind playing those types of things much (they do iphone versions) but I hated getting constant requests from people. Also, the way that a game would start out simple enough and enjoyable but eventually become overcrowded on this tiny screen with 'buy these coins!' or 'invite your friends!' offers was lame.
