back down Khadafy....

or else...guess what? the United States will intervene....wow..I am not surprised...again the USA has to be the world police...why do we have to do this? Why can't we just let them find a way to to settle it themselves? Sorry, I just do not see any reason to allow intervention on the USA part...I maybe wrong, but just am sick of having our necks on the line in places we do not belong...

Hear, hear!
When I enlisted I swore to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. Yes, and to obey the lawful orders of my superiors, but in what way is invading yet another country that hasn't attacked us a defense of the Constitution?

The arab world needs to sort its own problems out for sure.

The way I see it, America and the UK have already been performing operations in Libya and supplying the rebels (recently an SAS unit was captured in Libya) which was working fine until Gadafi starting regaining ground...

If you are talking about the no-fly zone pj there are others that will be involved including Canada so you're not alone..... this time.

So the people of Libya stand up against their self imposed dictator and he responds by going on state run television and saying he will slaughter them. He then uses his military might to wipe out the opposition/civilians and the rest of the world should stand by and just watch?

Isn't this the same argument the republicans used to justify going into Iraq? I mean first it was because of WMDs, then it was because he was building a nuclear bomb, then it was to protect his people because he was a monster.

Except this time the people of Libya are asking for help, specifically to establish a no-fly zone so they can at least have a fighting chance.

And for those of you that even hint that this unconstitutional, get real. Learn the facts and read your history. Only congress can declare war, but that isn't what's happening here. We are only part of a coalition force enforcing UN resolution 1973. And it's about time the UN does what it's supposed to do. This is the reason the UN exists.

Maybe the opposition forces wouldn't need help if Bush didn't open trade up with Gaddafi in 2004. Which freed up $1.3billion in frozen assets and allowed him to rebuild his military and airforce. All in the name of big business... ie Haliburton.

I think it has more to do with Oil and less to do with "world Policing".

By adding to the bombing? Yeah... big help.

UN rules dictate they can't attack Gadaffi, but they can bomb the civilian homes of Tripoli?

You don't think we are helping? Seriously?

There have been zero reports of civilian casualties, Gaddafi's airforce and helicopters have been grounded and the tanks advancing on civilians have been destroyed.
Yeah, it sounds like we have created a living hell for the people of Libya

The fact that Obama stated that the US will NOT be issuing a ground attack says that we mean business. You don't have to worry about friendly fire when you're dropping bombs from the air. I expect Libya to take one massive beating before the Easter bunny starts hopping down the bunny trail. That's not to say that I agree with us being there in the 1st place!

No, I don't think it is helping to intervene in matters that don't concern us.
