I honestly don't know what the big deal about negative rep. The forum that I cam from, you negative rep someone if you have strong disagreement with what they had to say. Not as a "last resort". People around here tend to get way too bent out of shape over red rep.

I've had my fair share of neg repping and receiving them myself.
It comes down to people take shit way too seriously. Its a forum for the love of god..... Some people beleive they are superior and neg repping makes them a god, and of course there is the reppee, They get all cut and bent out of shape over a simple comment.

Honestly... I've given out a few neg reps... And each time it came down to a few simple things:
A. The person irritated me or pissed me off something fierce to actually take some kind of action
B. I didnt want to be all bitchy publicly or cause a whole lot of drama...
C. I certainly didnt want a big PM conversation...
D. And I am way.... way too cheap to pay the few tokenz for a PM.
