No way in hell, sorry. I *might* be willing to spend $10-20/yr or something, but other than that I'd just go to other forums. I've always found that pledge drives work well, just let people what the money is needed for, and it'll come in. I got $175 at BSF a month ago for the new version of vBulletin by going that route.
See, but the difference there is that those guys, like the ones at PWInsider (who are far better BTW) and PWTorch make their living off of their subscriptions and ad revenue. Like you said, it isn't just for a forum, but for the forum, no ads, premium content, podcasts, interview, and all of that.
*Disclaimer* this was not endorsed by V so no do not think this is something coming at all! and some of you that have been here awhile know this has been kicked around in the past but definitly not the cost of 10 a month.
As Springer said hes rambling random thoughts. That being said a small yearly fee or donation I dont think is to much to ask if it would ever come to that. V does have a cost associated with running this place that comes out of her pocket yearly so you all can play here for free. Shes not making squat on those tiny ads you see so it is really all her. I dont think people realize that. Thank you V this place its someplace I enjoy coming and have made alot of friends here that without her footing the bill for this place would not have happened.

I thought this was a closed matter and that a Donation Button was being considered to be added to the site ( via Paypal or such ).. We discussed this back a while ago and the suggestion was made and V seemed positive on that method. I personally think making it anonymous from members and to with no extra perks is the way to go because it shows who really wants to be here and who doesn't for the site itself depending on your financial situation of the time.. Only V would know who donated..

Yes, I did want to do this and still do.. however, my man tim left me.. so I havent done it yet w/ all that is going on.
I still think that V should implement the Donate button. You can make it green (for money) or another color and stick it somewhere near the tokenz button or somewhere along that line of buttons. Or you can put it on the home page. It's part of Vbulletin software and really wouldn't be hard to set up through paypal. That way people don't feel like they have to pay to play here. And it would be anonymous to the other members so that no one can say that donating members are being treated differently.

We would lose new members signing up and maybe some of the members who are frustrated right now or it would keep out the riff raff and the site could become even better than it already is. I would pay a $20 yearly subscription to be able to keep the site going. Whichever way V decides she wants to do it, if she does, is fine by me. I'm in.
