Re: Little things that piss you off

lol everybody spells my first AND last name wrong, it's infuriating.

Do they also constantly mispronounce it, too? Because that happens to me and it drives me up a fucking wall. I can kind of understand my last name, as it's German. But my first name is so EASY, and it's so annoying.

Something else that drives me crazy is when I'm sitting here trying to do my schoolwork at home (which is really the only place I can do it, as it's an online course.) and people keep constantly trying to talk to me. It's like "yeah..I know this stuff isn't hard, but I have to read this chapter and then take a test on it. I can't concentrate when you're blathering on about shit I don't care about." grr.

Also: the potentially mentally slow kid in my math class who can't formulate his question before he asks it, so it takes him five minutes to ask a question about something that admittedly isn't that difficult, but I can give him the dumb question part on account of the fact that I don't quite think he's all there. (on a side note...we've been in this class three days a week since the middle of August and we're all in the hall waiting for class to start on Friday and he comes in and actually asks everyone if we're all waiting for this class. Like, you don't recognize ANYONE???" And then after being told the door was locked, he secretly tried to open it, just in case we were lying and thought it was cool to chill in the hallway...lol)

Re: Little things that piss you off

people spelling my name wrong...

Omg it pisses me off too.

K A T I E. Though if someone has just met me, I won't mind too much if they spell it Katy but I will quickly correct it.

Over the years I've had:

Katey
Katye
Katiy
Katyie
Kayte
Kayty

From teachers and people who I've known for years. And then when I correct them, I get asked "Are you sure" YES I AM! It's been my name for nerly 21 years :willy_nilly::willy_nilly:

Re: Little things that piss you off

How can people spell a simple name like that wrong? :p People always spell mine without the second 'e', so they'll spell it the American way - Kimberly. When my name is the Australian spelling - Kimberley :cool Some people even spell my last name wrong. It's Gordon, not Gordan or Gorden. Does my name really sound like 'Gor-dann'?
