My best moon shot

Well, with a little playing around, this is the best I can get with my Video camera. It only takes 8 megapixel pictures but it does take full 1080p video

Well here it is...

I'm not happy with it at all, I guess I need to get my telescope out and see if I can get better definition.

And the only thing I did to that picture was crop it.

It's not bad. It's just lacking in sharpness of the details. The moon is a tricky object to photograph. This I know. :nod: And I don't see anything wrong with an 8 MP camera. Mine is 6 MP and it does just fine.

Whoa, I am not criticising Tim, but I am trying to give some advice :thumbup

What's wrong with center? It's balanced! I think it'd look odd off center or in the corners, especially since that's all that in the image

I wasn't attempting to get a great picture here as far as composition. My only attempt was to get as clear and sharp a picture that my camera would allow. The crop was just to get it to fit here.
When I can get the settings correct, my final picture will not just be of the moon, it will more along the linens of "Moonrise" by Ansel Adams. Just taking a picture of the moon alone with nothing else would be tough to make look right.

Forget about how sharp this photo has come out, but don't you think this is better (not disparaging Tim at all here)
