Who says birds don't have feelings? (warning - this is depressing)

Here his wife is injured and the condition is fatal.
She was hit by a car as she swooped low across the road.

Here he brought her food and attended to her with love and compassion
part-007.jpeg

He brought her food again but was shocked to find her dead.
He tried to move her....a rarely-seen effort for swallows!

part-004.jpeg

Aware that his sweetheart is dead and will never come back to him again,
he cries with adoring love.

part-008.jpeg

He stood beside her, saddened of her death.
part-003.jpeg

Finally aware that she would never return to him, he
stood beside her body with sadness and sorrow.

part-006.jpeg

Millions of people cried after watching this picture in
America and Europe and even in Asia . It is said that the

photographer sold these pictures for a nominal fee to the

most famous newspaper in France . All copies of that
newspaper were sold out on the day these pictures were published.

And many people think animals don't have a brain or feelings?????

Actually I think HE got killed and SHE was grieving. I could be wrong but usually the males have more color and that appears to be the case here. I could be wrong, either way it is touching.

 In many species the male bird has more color than the female. It's usually the female's job to sit on the eggs and they are generally blander looking so they blend in with their surroundings.

This is a really neat set of pictures. I "awww'd" when I saw them. :(

I cant defend a stupid bird, sorry.
The story is about the bird and the remarkable pictures, I'm not going to have a superficial argument about something we all know, no need to bring down a good post
I'm not bringing anything down. I just think its sort of strange that we're applying a very complicated emotion to a animal that has an incredibly primitive brain that probably cannot understand what "love" is.
