Not only do I see that but I see a car with way too little return on the investment. You give up all that storage space for very little return on the mpg.
i told you i was gonna do this.... and so far no one agrees with you. i dont care how good the crash rating is, its a coffin in wait

It's a motorized roller skate. But in fairness to fuzz, they do have a good crash test rating. I see a lot of them in the city which is probably a smart choice because they are good for short trips with a lot of stopping and starting. However, if you live in a place where you have to drive distance daily, I don't think they'd be comfortable or any more fuel efficient than a compact.
Side note, I'd much rather see smart cars around the city than Hummers...

The're actually statistically one of the safest cars around, the miles per gallon rate is incredible too. The only thing I dont like about them is that you can only carry one passanger, not very practical that, for a lot of people.

How about for the conscious spender, the people who know that having a car like this is quite honestly one of the smartest things to do nowdays according to the economy and pollution statistics.
add to that the fact that these little boogers are a great investment and youve got a winner of a car all around.
I've not done much research, but by those videos you can see that your legs would have been completely crushed. Is that safe? Um..no... I'd like to see a smart car vs a big truck.

The pint-size 2008 Smart fortwo receives the highest rating in front-end and side-impact testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
By The Associated PressThe 2008 Smart fortwo micro car, the smallest car for sale in the U.S. market, has earned top scores in crash tests conducted by the insurance industry.
The 8-foot 8-inch-long vehicle received the highest rating of "good" in front-end and side-impact testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, helping address some concerns that occupants may be more vulnerable in the tiny two-seater.
The tests, released Wednesday, show how well vehicles stack up against others of similar size and weight. The institute noted that the front-end test scores can't be compared across weight classes, meaning a small car that earns a good rating isn't considered safer than a large car that did not earn the highest rating.
Adrian Lund, the institute's president, said a small car may be more practical in congested urban areas where serious, high-speed crashes are less likely. The institute conducted the crash test to help guide consumers who want a small car that can give them good protection.
"All things being equal in safety, bigger and heavier is always better. But among the smallest cars, the engineers of the Smart did their homework and designed a high level of safety into a very small package," Lund said.

where i live EVERYTHING is bigger than a smart car. again, IMO they are not gonna save your ass if you get hit by a ford f150
The car will do best to stay off the high ways because speed is not a little cars friend. Well here in the US at least, our urban areas have highway systems to get around town. This means that these cars will see speeds of 70mph + quite often.
I've seen video of one with a similar set up that beat lambo or ferrari on the 1/4 mi
