WTF is going on?

Right now there are 4 news helicopters over us. They are looking at downtown Allentown... for what? I don't know, but it's got to be big, we don't have any news helicopters in this area, so they have to be from philly and NYC... I have to find out, and there is NOTHING on the F'n news... argh

not only must they have been going fast, but the street they were on, one person said that the cop car was going the wrong way. And everyone who lives in allentown, or even around allentown know that part of that street is a one way. So there's no excuse, it's just unbelievable.

Damn, that's terrible. I'm not making excuses for the cops, obviously they fucked up. But they were going to a report of a man with a gun doing god knows what, I can see going the wrong way down a one way street. But, obviously not as fast as they were...

And there really is a Sacred Heart Hospital?

this is what happens all the time in Baltimore as well. Cops get goin to goddamn fast to get somewhere and always end up colliding and hurting someone. un-friggin-real

This is why many states and cities are trying to ban police chases, except in the most extreme cases of a violent criminal being chased. Too many innocent people are dieing because the police think they are John Wayne and have to chase after everyone then proceed to put several clips in to them.

Not to knock on all police officers, because there are some great ones...but I don't see why we should be surprised by this. Ever cop I personally know got in to it simply for the "macho" factor of carrying a gun and a badge. If a person already has that mentality, wouldn't you think they already have a predisposition to do crazy stuff like going the wrong one down one way streets, far too fast, to be the "hero"?

Baltimore has a growing problem with dirtbike gangs riding around on the streets, as if thats not dangerous enough, then the police chase em. They just passed a law where police are not allowed to chase anyone thats on an atv through the city

I think some kids on dirt bikes are a little less dangerous than overzealous cops flinging their extremely heavy Crown Vics around at high speed on tight city streets.

well in most cases yes, but when theres like 2 dozen dirtbikes flyin down the middle of the road someones gonna end up hurt lol

Yet still probably not hurt as bad as someone who gets hit by a Crown Vic flying down the same street, given that the Crown Vic weighs about 10x as much and hits you with exponentially more kinetic force.
