who here is a total beach bum or pool bum during the summer? I was all my life until I got too fat to be comfortable out in a bathing suit 2 years ago, but man ever since then I have been itching to get back out to the pool and just be lazy or lay out and read a book...so I am so excited that I can wear a bathing suit again without being embarrassed anymore about the way I look, and I am totally gonna be at the pool every day now! Just can't get my head wet for a few weeks...Damn swim ear!

I used to be much more than I am now. I get sunburnt a little too easy to be sitting around outside. But we typically spend about a week at the beach each year, which is when I hardly go indoors except to eat.

When I was younger I used to spend at least 3 days a week out at the river skiing and what not, but now I dont have the time to do that as much. We just bought a camp out on the river over the winter so maybe I will get to spend some more time out there this summer.

We have Magic Springs here which is an amusement park with a major big water park too. We bought passes last yr and went just about every day that I was off work and spent more than half the time in the water swimming. It got to the point where it was too hot to be anywhere riding rides so we just stayed in the water.

I love the beach, I just wish I could go more often. Skipped so many days of school my senior year going to the beach...

I am a total beach bum during summer...that's why I live only a few streets from the beach. I spend a lot of my spare time at the beach either just bumming, or enjoying skiing, parasailing, and jet skiing.

I spend a great deal of time at the beach through all the seasons.

anyone who says they are too pale, just to let you know that is bs, they make up to like SPF 80 now. I too am a very fair skinned person, and it takes me about all summer to get looking tan, but I have just learned to do it the slow way and use that spf 50 and reapply at least every 2 hours. Yay I just got back fromt he pool and I feel so awake now. Nothing like laying out for a few hours to wake you up and start your day!

Well, I know I can wear sun screen, but that doesnt take away the traumatization. I have been burned so badly I have had to go to the hospital. After that happened three times, I was done.

It was while I was a child. My aunt Betty would send me out to the pool and she wouldnt put sun screen on me. I had blisters all over me. I mean all over. I couldnt move for two weeks. I could have died. Thus. I swim at night. Period. :)

My sister has burned with 70 SPF on and that with her reapplying constantly. And as my sister just pointed out, there's a difference between being pale and not being able to tolerate the sun well.

hmm. thats odd amber! usually people who reapply and actually responsibly wear sunscreen don't burn. But I guess there are exceptions to every rule. I just get a nice brownish shade when I slow tan (by wearing sunscreen but going outside every day)

My sister burns riding in the car. She steps outside and in a matter of minutes is pink. She's just given up on ever getting a tan or not having to wear a shirt over her bathing suit.
