a man was walking down the beach. in the distance, he saw a boy stoop down, pick something up, and toss it into the ocean. as he got closer, he saw that the tide had thrown starfish onto the shore, and they were dying. after watching the boy throw starfish into the sea, he said, "there must be thousands on the beach. you cant possibly save enough to make a difference."
the boy smiled and tossed in another starfish. he replied, "it made a difference to that one."
