Ive always been a fan of Honda vehicles and to this day I have yet to be dissapointed.

Low maintenance and very very reliable... just ask my wife!

That is just my opinion

I am partial to Toyota myself.
I never have had good luck with Ford.
I owned a lot of General Motors products over the years.
At my house there are 2 Toyatas, a Honda, & a GMC.

I've never been a fanatic about any car I've really owned until I bought our focus's. Its a solid car as long as you keep up with the minimal maintenance with it.

How do you define "Best?"

If it's most bang for your buck, I agree with Ford. I'm a Ford guy in general anyway. Got me a 2008 Focus last year. Love it. Previously I had an Explorer, which was great too, but I sort of down-graded to something much better on mileage.

Of the "American" auto makers, Ford is consistently the most reliable (though that's not saying much). They still don't touch most of the Japanese automakers when it comes to longevity, particularly when it comes to family sedans (Camry comes to mind, they last for freaking ever).

But when you compare similar models between the big Japanese makes (Honda and Toyota) and Ford, you get a lot more for your money with Ford.

Also, the Ford 4 cyl engines (Z-tech and Duratech) have been running strong for years and aren't underpowered like the GM fours. Every GM sedan I see nowadays is a V6. Their fours are so underpowered no one wants them.

I've always been a fan of Toyota and Ford. I own a Ford right now, and I'm very happy with it, but I also had great luck with my Toyota Corolla.

I wouldn't trust an American company right now. Even if Ford isn't taking much bailout money.

Ford has not taken any bailout money. And at this time have no plans to do so. And will not do so unless it really gets dire given the shitty treatment Obama has given GM and Chrysler.

Well they wouldn't be in this shitty situation if they had seen the market trends rather then invest in gas guzzlers. But oh well. too late.

Yeah blame it on the gas guzzlers. If the fucking bankers were not corrupt this would be half sorted out by now. I do not give a damn how well they were positioned at the time when the banks folded it was going to hurt them big time. But that is getting off topic. There are other places to argue this.

American cars are better than they used to be. I have had 3 or 4 Chrysler products that were very good.

I agree about the GM 4 bangers. I would have purchased a Vue but its 4 banger is really weak. As a result you go with the 6 cylinder that gets worse mileage. Back in the day GM had some shitty 6 cylinder engines also but their 8 cylinders were quite impressive.

If one wants the best value today though problably Honda is the winner. You pay a bit more for them initially it appears but they hold up and the resale is the best. Just can not bring myself to ever buy another foreign car. When they do break down you pay thru the nose. Or at least it use to be that way

Ford quality ratings are actually higher than Honda, but most everyone knows that now. What I found surprising is the Ford Service, if the vehicle breaks, is 'best in class' (consumers report). The dealer fill rate for service parts is 98% for next day service.

Zero bail $ for Ford. The European and Asian companies get governement subsidies...and that doesn't even count health care...Ford's is about the only company standing on it's own.
